REAL WEDDING: Victoria and Brodie

Wednesday 18th Jan 2017

Originally meeting in the Army Victoria and Brodie cheekily flirted with each other but never exchanged names or details. Fate was not finished with this couple and when they bumped into each other again at a work event, sparks flew and the rest is history! Three and a half years later Brodie proposed at sunset on a beach in Darwin, Brodie got down on one knee at the water’s edge and Victoria answered YES!

Victoria and Brodie decided on a luxe, ‘city meets garden’ themed wedding. The wedding ceremony took place at Cardinal Cerretti memorial chapel at St Patrick’s Estate in Manly (also the place where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban wed!) A stunning string quartet set the mood for this romantic ceremony with many guests being overwhelmed by the sentiment of each moment. Tears and laughter filled the space – The Groom was overwhelmed with emotion when seeing his spectacular Bride for the first time, a moment to be treasured forever. The highlight of the ceremony was the vows, the happy couple didn’t waver from each other’s eyesight the entire time creating an intensely romantic atmosphere. Swoon!

Moving onto L’Aqua Terrace Room for their chic wedding reception, Victoria and Brodie used Black Tiffany chairs and charger plates contrasted by crisp white linen. “We opted for two different centrepieces to create a bit of altitude in the venue with Lady Anne Vases and Grand Gold pillar candlesticks.” This was complimented by luxe gold acrylic menus and black tags for each table. - So glamorous!

Setting the tone of the evening was important to Victoria and Brodie. “We had an acoustic guitarist for canapés, jazz trio playing for our 3-course dinner and the DJ playing for dancing and party time!”
Victoria’s dress was a Peter Trends original, a fit and flair style, which had Chantilly lace and intricate pearl work on the bodice. The bottom had a small train with scalloped lace around the edges. The spectacular bridal gown was complimented by the bridesmaids who opted for navy, chic Grecian style gowns. The bridesmaid’s dresses were by Sheike and allowed a small conversion on the top piece of fabric to allow a different style for each bridesmaid to suit their body shape.

Victoria and Brodie described their experience with Dockside Group as incredible. “Susan is hand down the best wedding planner in the world.  We knew everything about the venue and proceedings and nothing was ever too hard. The staff on the day were so accommodating and friendly we were looked after well and everything we asked for was done for us without a problem!  Not to mention… the food was decadent I still think about the cookie and cream torte yum!”

Some words of wisdom to future Brides and Grooms from the happy couple -
“Be organised, don’t settle, but that doesn’t mean pay a price that you can’t afford. Ensure the vendors you work with are nice and make you feel comfortable, that makes a huge difference on the day. Take it all in, it goes just way too quickly.”
Be inspired by this divine wedding!
